MINDFUL LIVING

The Slow: A Philosophy, A Space, A Community

Since its inception in 2019, The Slow has been more than just a café and concept store; it has been a reflection of a way of life—one that values mindfulness, craftsmanship, and connection. Inspired by my travels, particularly a transformative trip to Bali where I admired the integration of creativity with nature and spirituality, I envisioned a space in Beirut that would embody a slower, more mindful lifestyle. This vision led to the establishment of The Slow in November 2019, a space that combines retail, dining, and communal areas, encouraging visitors to engage in leisure, work, and shopping at a relaxed pace.

Every detail, from the menu to the design, has been carefully curated to create an experience that is intentional and immersive. Our philosophy is rooted in simplicity, quality, and the beauty of slow living—whether it’s through a cup of coffee, a conversation, or a carefully chosen object from our store.

Our Philosophy

At The Slow, we believe in embracing a slower pace of life. Our mission is to provide a space where you can relax, savor wholesome foods, and discover curated products that promote personal wellness and sustainability.

Concept Store

Beyond our café, The Slow houses a thoughtfully curated retail space showcasing accessories, clothing, gifts, and more. Each item is selected to reflect our commitment to quality and sustainability, offering you unique products that align with a mindful lifestyle.

Award Winning

The Slow, was recognized by Condé Nast Traveller in 2021 as one of the world’s most eco-conscious shops. This recognition highlights The Slow’s dedication to sustainability, offering a space that combines a café, gallery, workspace, and retail area featuring eco-friendly products.

A New Chapter: Growing with Intention

As we continue to evolve, we are excited to share that The Slow is expanding into a new, larger space—one that embraces nature, movement, and an even deeper sense of community. This new home features an outdoor garden, designed to offer a serene escape where people can gather, unwind, and connect. In collaboration with Namat Beirut, we are also introducing Pilates, yoga, and reformer studios—integrating mindful movement into the lifestyle we champion. This expansion is not just about size but about deepening our commitment to holistic well-being.

Designed with Purpose

This new space is a personal endeavor— not only in its physical form but also in its branding and menu. Inspired by Japanese aesthetics and flavors, the menu will introduce a refined selection of dishes and drinks that celebrate balance, subtlety, and seasonality. Every element, is a reflection of my vision for The Slow: a place where design, food, and philosophy come together in harmony.

A Personal Note

The Slow has always been deeply personal to me. It began as an idea, a feeling, a longing for a space that didn’t just serve but truly nourished—through food, design, and atmosphere. Over the years, it has grown into a home for so many of us, shaped by the people who walk through its doors, share conversations over coffee, or find a moment of quiet in its corners.
This new chapter is an extension of that feeling. It’s a labor of love, built with the same intention and care that have always guided The Slow. I can’t wait for you to experience it, to make it your own, and to continue this journey with us.
